Night-Time Habits to Help you Lose Weight!

Night-Time Habits to Help you Lose Weight!

From night time binges, mindless eating while watching Netflix, lack of activity, and staying up too late, there are multiple habits which many of us are guilty of preventing us from making progress!

Or maybe worse, these habits could be out weighing all the hard work and good choices you make during the day.  These habits can even be interrupting your sleep which will  impact your metabolism's calorie burning ability the next day or even cause more food cravings.  All because of some bad night time habits

Here are some ways to help you get better results, sleep better, and honestly feel better!

Tip #1 - Go to bed on time!

I know this is much easier said than done, but this is more important than most realize.  When you are well rested, you have more energy.  This allows you to be more motivated for your workout, you will have better control of your appetite, less cravings, and it will be easier to make healthy food choices.

Tip #2 - Stay Active

Getting regular exercise will help you create a calorie deficit helping you lose weight. For most people staying active even helps give them more energy during the day but then actually will help you fall asleep faster at night. Then helping you go to bed on time!

Tip #3 - Stick to your healthy diet at night

Just because you had a healthy breakfast, and a salad for lunch does not mean you can have an entire pizza and a pint of ice cream.  This can easily out do all your hard work and actually reverse if you go too overboard!

Tip #4 - Relax before bed

Relaxing before bed can help you fall asleep faster and sleep more.  Actually research has shown that people who watch TV before bed are more likely to be overweight or obese than those who don't. This could be because watching tv is also associated with snacking! So read a book, mediate, or take a bubble bath!

Tip #5 - Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep

Going to bed on time is step one, but make sure you are getting 7-8 hours of sleep.  This literally recharges your body's batteries and allows it to repair and recover.  Getting 7-8 hours of sleep allows your body to burn fat efficiently!  Any less and you are missing out on its ability to burn fat at its best!

A lot of these are easier said than done! So take one tip at a time and keep at it until it is a habit. Then move onto the next!
