On average many full body movements burn about 1 calorie per rep.  The graphic above shows 1000 reps of bodyweight movements.  You can do this workout anywhere at any time because it requires no equipment!

Now the question is do these types of workouts actually burn 1000-1100 calories?  

The answer….

It depends!

The scientific research done on these movements to determine their average calorie burn was done awhile ago and mostly on men weighing anywhere between 150 to 200 pounds who were in fairly good shape.  Men of this size have a lot more muscle mass than women of this size.  At rest when you are not doing anything, muscles burn 3 times as many calories per minute then fat.  And the more muscle mass you have the more calories you burn.

This also goes for the calorie burn on many of the cardio machines at the gym.  The calories are based on men.  If you put in your weight and gender it is a bit better but usually still off.

So women then may not burn 1000-1100 calories in this workout BUT they respectively burn  A LOT for their size in comparison to many of other workouts.  

We highly recommend saving this workout and using it when you are away this summer.  With it being a calorie burner that requires no equipment and minimum space it can be done in a hotel room, balcony or a small hotel gym.  

The workout should be done with minimal breaks so that you keep your heart rate elevated for maximal calorie burn!
