Stress can be a good thing, but too much can cause havoc in the body!
Stress causes an increase of cortisol, the bodys literal stress hormone. This hormone is actually very important. It helps us get up in the morning, it turns on our fight or flight response when needed, and makes us more alert. The thing is too much can be bad!
Too much stress can cause an overload of cortisol, causing you to feel wired but tired at night preventing restful sleep, increased appetite specifically carb/sugar cravings, promote a lower metabolic rate and promote belly fat storage.
